Everything people ask before they hire us.
Straight answers about what Bullish Marketing does, what it costs, how the process works, and how a site gets found on Google and recommended by AI. If your question isn't here, ask it; we answer within a business hour.
What is Bullish Marketing?
Bullish Marketing is a website design and branding studio based in Lake Norman, North Carolina, that builds websites for home-service companies and professional firms anywhere in the world. Every site is built to be found on Google and cited by AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. It was founded by Ted Bullard, who has managed more than $100 million in advertising and runs a top-rated home-service company in the Charlotte area.
Who does Bullish Marketing build websites for?
Two kinds of business. Home-service companies: plumbers, HVAC, electricians, roofers, landscapers, junk removal, pressure washing, pest control, cleaning, fencing, painting and dumpster rental. Professional firms: law firms, medical and dental practices, real estate, financial advisors, manufacturers, churches, nonprofits, consultancies, builders, insurance agencies, schools and hospitality.
Do you only work with businesses in North Carolina?
No. Bullish is based in Lake Norman and knows the Charlotte market block by block, but we build for businesses anywhere in the United States and internationally. Every project runs remotely on video calls, a shared intake form and a private preview link, so location doesn't change the process or the price.
What makes Bullish different from other web design agencies?
Three things. You see your homepage on a private preview link before you commit to anything beyond the deposit. Every site ships with Found Basics, the system that gets a site cited by Google and AI assistants, which we built for our own companies first. And the people building your site have run a home-service company for nine years and marketed professional firms for twenty, so the site is designed to make the phone ring, not to win design awards.
Who will actually build my website?
The founder, Ted Bullard, designs and builds every site. Josh Loock, Head of Client Growth, is your point of contact from the first call through launch and beyond. You never get handed to a junior designer or an offshore team.
How do I get a quote?
For home-service companies, use the builder on the homepage: type your business name, pick your trade and town, and request the real preview. We'll send a private homepage preview within one business hour, Monday to Friday, and the package price is fixed. For professional firms, book a one-hour scoping call; you'll receive a written recommendation and a fixed price within three business days.
What does 'see your homepage before you commit' mean?
After a short intake, we design your real homepage with your logo, photos and copy and put it on a private link. If you like the direction, we proceed. If you don't, your deposit is returned and you owe nothing.
What do you need from me to start?
Your logo (or a decision to refresh it), ten to twenty photos of your crew, trucks, office or finished work, a list of your services and the towns you serve, your licenses and certifications, a link to your Google reviews, and access to your domain. Our intake form collects all of it in about twenty minutes.
How long does a website take?
Packaged home-service sites typically go live two to three weeks after the deposit. Professional-service projects run three to ten weeks depending on tier: Foundation in three to four, Growth in five to six, Flagship in eight to ten.
I already have a website on WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or GoDaddy. What happens to it?
We rebuild it on our stack and handle the whole move: content, images, URL redirects, domain and forms. Your domain, email and any booking, CRM or store software stay where they are. Rankings usually improve because the new site is faster and structured for search. We don't edit or patch sites on other platforms; see the Switching platforms page for what happens to yours.
Do you work remotely or in person?
Both. Most projects run entirely on Google Meet, email and a private preview link. For professional-services projects and larger home-service operators in the Charlotte and Lake Norman area, we're glad to meet in person.
How much does a website cost?
Home-service websites are packaged: Scout $1,250, Raider $2,250, Berserker $3,750, Empire $7,500. Professional-service websites are custom: Foundation from $7,500, Growth from $15,000, Flagship from $25,000, Enterprise scoped. Branding add-ons run $500 to $1,500. Every price is fixed once scoped.
How do payments work?
In three parts: 50% to start, 25% when you approve the design, 25% at launch. Deposits are paid by card or bank transfer through a secure payment link.
Are there monthly fees?
A care plan keeps the site hosted, secure, backed up and updated: $79 to $199 a month for home-service sites and $249 to $499 for professional sites, starting the month after launch. Found Pro, our monthly search and AI-visibility system, is optional at $299 a month for home services and $599 for professional firms. Both can be cancelled any time.
Do I own my website?
Yes. The design, copy and code are yours. The care plan keeps the site running; it does not hold it hostage. If you leave, you take the site with you.
Does migrating my existing site cost extra?
Usually no. Each package includes migrating up to its page count (Scout 4, Raider 10, Berserker 25, Empire 50). Beyond that it's $50 a page or a step up in package, whichever is cheaper. Blog posts are $25 each to carry over or archived with redirects free. Custom projects include migration in scope.
Do you offer discounts?
Packages are already priced as the value, so no. On custom projects the lever is scope, not price: we can reach a budget by adjusting what's included, never by discounting the work.
Will my website show up on Google?
Every Bullish site ships with Found Basics: structured data on every page, a page for every service and every town you serve, a sitemap and llms.txt for crawlers, a Google Business Profile tune-up, and a 30-day check that you're indexed. That is the foundation for ranking; how far you rise depends on your market, your reviews and whether you keep publishing, which is what Found Pro is for.
What is AI search and why does it matter for my business?
More customers now ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Siri and Google's AI Overviews 'who should I call?' instead of scrolling results. Those assistants answer with a name, and they choose names from sites that are structured clearly, answer real questions directly, and are consistent with Google Business Profile and reviews. A site built for that gets recommended; a site built only to look good gets skipped.
What is Found Basics?
The search and AI-visibility system included in every Bullish site at no extra cost: organization, service and FAQ schema on every page; a page per service and per town; sitemap, robots and llms.txt; a Google Business Profile tune-up at launch; reviews structured to appear in results; and a 30-day indexed-and-cited check.
What is Found Pro?
The monthly system that keeps you the answer. Two new pages a month written for the questions your customers ask, a monthly check of what ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google say when someone asks who to call, a review flow, quarterly expansion into new towns and services, and a one-page plain-English report. $299 a month for home services, $599 for professional firms. Cancel any time and keep every page.
Can you guarantee a #1 ranking?
No, and no honest agency can. We guarantee the work, the monthly report, and before-and-after screenshots you can judge for yourself.
Do you do SEO?
Yes, in the sense that matters now. Traditional SEO is built into every site through Found Basics. Found Pro extends it to AI search: the pages, structure and monitoring that get a business cited by AI assistants, not just listed by Google.
What is included in a home-service website package?
Depending on package: mobile-first design, a quote or instant-price form, a page per service and per service area, reviews on the page, tap-to-call everywhere, structured data for Google and AI search, and the Launch Kit: our operations manual, marketing guide and a Google Business Profile tune-up. See the pricing page for the full comparison.
Can you build an instant-price or instant-quote feature?
Yes. Our own junk removal company runs on one. The Raider package and up include an instant-quote widget configured for your services.
Will you write the copy?
Yes. We interview you and write the site in the voice your customers respond to. You don't have to write a word, though we'll take anything you have as a starting point.
Do you build websites for junk removal companies in Charlotte?
Yes. We run one there, which means we know exactly what the site has to do, and we don't mind the competition.
Do you build websites for law firms?
Yes, with a page per practice area, attorney profiles structured for search, results where your bar rules permit, and a consultation path. We build with your compliance requirements from the start.
Can you integrate booking, intake, CRM or payment systems?
Yes. We connect most scheduling, intake, CRM, donation and listing platforms, or build a request form that feeds yours. Integrations are scoped on the consultation.
Can you handle multiple locations or brands?
Yes. Multi-office firms, multi-campus churches and multi-brand portfolios are what the Growth, Flagship and Enterprise tiers are for: one system, a page for every location, and a rollout plan.
Can you work within our existing brand guidelines?
Yes. We build inside your brand standards or refresh them as part of the project; Flagship includes a brand refresh.
Do you design logos?
Yes. Three packages: Mark ($500) for the logo in four versions with a palette and type pairing; Identity ($1,000) adds a look book of applications like truck doors, uniforms and business cards; Brand Book ($1,500) adds voice, copy and a one-page guide. All include two revision rounds.
Can I get a logo without a website?
Yes. Branding is sold with a website or on its own.
What happens after my site goes live?
We submit it to Google and Bing, tune your Google Business Profile, hand you a review link, and take baseline screenshots of what AI assistants say about you. At day 30 we check that every page is indexed, repeat the AI check, and report the calls and form fills the site produced.
How do I make changes to my site?
Send them to us. Care plans include changes within two business days. For events or frequently updated content we can set up simple self-editing.
What if I want to cancel?
Care plans and Found Pro can be cancelled any time. You keep the site and every page we built.
